The rapidly increasing demand for energy across Indonesia coupled with the decline in the domestic supply and production of gas has created the need for new, unconventional sources of energy.Coalbed Methane is the process of extracting methane gas from unmined coal by depressuring the coalbed via water extraction.With the support of the Indonesian Government and partnerships with companies, Sugico has engaged in CBM exploration in Sumatera and Kalimantan.

Through partnerships with local and multinational companies Sugico has completed various joint studies and feasibility analyses to ensure the economic, social and environmental success of CBM in Indonesia.Sugico makes it a priority to ensure the health, safety, and protection of the community and environment.
